How We Use Cloudflare to Run Three Websites for $15/Month
A tour of every Cloudflare service powering the YWCC Capstone and RWC platform — Pages, Workers, D1, KV, Durable Objects, AI Search, and Turnstile — and why we chose each one.
The NJIT Ying Wu College of Computing (YWCC) is home to two distinct but related initiatives: the Industry Capstone Program, which connects undergraduate student teams with sponsor companies for real-world projects, and the Real World Connections (RWC) program, which gives middle and high school students hands-on experience with companies, alumni, and NJIT faculty. Both programs needed modern web presences. Neither had the budget for three separate, from-scratch builds.
This article explains how we delivered three production websites — the Capstone Sponsors site, RWC US, and RWC International — from a single shared codebase, each operating on its own independent Sanity CMS license and Cloudflare account, at a combined operating cost of just $15/month.
The Capstone Sponsors site is the flagship deliverable. Led by Team A (3 members), it serves as both a public marketing site that attracts industry sponsors and an authenticated sponsor portal where signed-in sponsors can track their projects, view events, and manage engagement.
